Welcome to the exciting world of video gaming! I'll be sharing all the games I’ve loved and hated, so relax and enjoy the journey.
This is one of my favorite modern-day games. Its basic and fun. It does have quite a bit of grinding to unlock everything but it's worth it to me. I still have not unlocked everything, but I will eventually.
I loved this game. It was difficult for me, but I stuck with it. It's one of those titles I won't part with. I spent many nights with the lights off trying to beat this sucker. To this day I have a difficult time playing it. It will probably always be hard to me.
This was a fun one to play. There are not enough westerns in the video game universe. This one was underrated for sure.
This is an old Xbox game from my personal collection, and it sure has its share of controversy. It's a Sims game with nudity—you run the magazine, and at night, you wine and dine celebrities to land interviews. I don’t play it anymore, but I’m not letting it go. Honestly, I don’t even know if it’s worth anything these days.
Here is one from my personal collection. It is an early Take Two game. I know it was inferior to the PC version, but I still enjoyed it.
I remember the day I got this gem. Now, obviously, it isn’t a childhood gem, but it’s a gem from my adult days. I never played the original NES version, so I was unfamiliar with the game series when I bought it.
I got tired of my SNES, so I took it to FuncoLand and traded it in for a PlayStation. At the time, I was fine with it, but I do regret getting rid of the SNES. I can still play all the old SNES games, but we won’t get into that here. Anyway, I traded it in and grabbed a PSX. While picking out games, the store clerk pointed me toward Metal Gear Solid, and I’ve always been eternally grateful for that.
This game was and still is amazing, with a great story—actually, an epic story, at least by my standards. Until now, the only games I considered epic in terms of story were the Phantasy Star and Final Fantasy series. I’m not saying other games had bad stories, just that these stood out as truly epic.
It was my first stealth-based game, and I’m not even sure if there were any before it. The stealth mechanics kept me on my toes, and I enjoyed the combat, even though aiming the guns sometimes got on my nerves. What made the game fun for me was the story and the stealth. It left such an impression that I’ve loved stealth-based games ever since, and they remain one of my favorite genres. I enjoy the slow pace, like when playing sniper games, where I take my time and plan everything out. I also love fast-paced games like Elden Ring, but it’s nice to slow down once in a while.
The villains were fascinating, and we all remember the originality of the Psycho Mantis fight. This game is outstanding, and anyone who hasn't played it should. Fortunately, Konami recently released it, and you can still buy it. It's called Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume One.
Well, that's it for now. Until next time, keep gaming! Next time, I'll try to pick an older title—something a bit more super retro.
